Flu Season

We want to share with you some things we are doing to prevent the spread of the flu and other sickness at Glidden-Ralston Schools. Students and staff are encouraged to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer (provided in each classroom) regularly and cover their cough properly. Additional cleaning procedures have been put in place on common surfaces like doorknobs, handrails, etc. We are also using a product that kills all germs in each classroom and bus to disinfect and sanitize. As advised by the Iowa Department of Health, please keep your children home if they are running a fever to avoid the spread of sickness. Listed below are the symptoms of the flu.

* Fever
* Headache
* Extreme tiredness
* Dry cough
* Sore throat
* Runny or stuffy nose
* Muscle aches
* Stomach symptoms

The Iowa Department of Public Health recommends students get plenty of sleep, physical activity, drink pl enty of water, and eat good food to help them stay healthy
